Home > South Asia > BIMSTEC members to meet on tourism with India ANI 2/17/2005 New Delhi: Soon after the successful India-ASEAN car rally, the BIMSTEC member countries are planning to promote tourism through chartered buses linking the member countries, with India as the leader. BIMSTEC has already incorporated tourism as a major engine of economic growth, and has planned to pursue the sector vigorously with India being assigned as the role of lead country for tourism. A deliberation on the aforesaid proposal would be held during the three-day meet to be hosted by India soon. Tourism Ministers from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Nepal and Bhutan would take part in the deliberations to be held at Kolkata. |
